Fun & free things to watch online [no subscription needed]!

A few months back we made the decision to drop our Netflix account. Nothing against it-- I still think it's a good alternative to expensive cable. My husband and I just really weren't watching it that often and it was becoming a distraction for the kids. They wanted to sit around and watch episodes of Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood instead of going to play outside in the fresh air. So we dropped it for awhile (and added $8 back into our pocket each month).

And, I have to say, I'm realizing just how many good, free viewing options are out here on the web.

Here's a little list of some of the options we enjoy viewing in our home:

desiringGod
Anything and everything from desiringGod. We like to search by topic or Scripture to find an uplifting, Bible-saturated message to watch and/or listen to!

Bulk Herb Store
Bulk Herb Store's YouTube page has so many clips that are perfect for quick, short viewing and are quite enlightening. You'll love Shoshanna's vibrant personality! And you're sure to find some healthy concoction you'll want to purchase from Bulk Herb Store!

Answers in Genesis
Answers in Genesis has a ton of informative resources out there for free. We recently watched their conference presentation called Rescuing Our Kids and it was phenomenal! Be sure to check out their Kids Videos too.

Tim Hawkins
We got some good laughs out of Christian comedian Tim Hawkin's YouTube page! Super funny guy.

iTBN
iTBN is an archived source of shows from the Trinity Broadcasting Network. My husband and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the Drive Thru History Series and highly recommend it! They also have a slew of faith-filled movies including Fireproof, Faith Like Potatoes, Facing the Giants and more. All for free!

So, what about you? What are your favorite, free things to watch online?

  1. I'll add, youtube is full of good stuff. We're currently watching "The Visual Bible" which is the NIV read, word for word, and acted out. It is well done, and very powerful. We've watched John, Acts, and Matthew.
